CALL TO ORDER The Lake Advisory Committee (LAC) Meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. Members present: Harry Alcorn, Dan O'Keefe and Donna Mankowski. Members absent: Marv Mirsch, Brad Beneke Others present: Jim Petersen; City Council, Larry Poppler; Assistant City Engineer II. CONSIDER APPROVAL MEETING MINUTES ",-- Harry Alcorn made a motion to approve the October minutes, Donna Mankowski seconded the motion. The minutes were approved as written. III. OLD BUSINESS ~ a. Review the 2005 Agenda and discuss the upcoming meeting with the City Council Poppler stated that the joint City Council work session with the LAC and PAC will be an opportunity for the LAC to receive feedback from the City Council and discuss the proposed 2005 work plan. The purpose of this agenda item tonight will be to outline items which the LAC would like to receive feedback. Petersen added that the presentation should be organized and thought out to emphasize the LAC's main points. O'Keefe stated that last meeting we organized the 2005 calendar. The LAC should receive some feedback on that workplan. Also the LAC should get some feedback from the City Council on the vision of the LAC and how the City Council can use the LAC as a tool. Alcorn asked that Pop pier e-mail the minutes from last meeting, so that Alcorn can take the calendar items from that meeting and incorporate these into a presentation. Alcorn added that we should emphasize the three main objectives of the LAC for 2005 which we discussed last meeting: 1. Solicit input from organizations on the lake to determine key issues from their perspective 3. Educational and marketing of the LAC O'Keefe and Alcorn will get together to organize the presentation. Alcorn will complete the graphical presentation and O'Keefe will present to the City Council. IV. NEW BUSINESS a. Winter Use Organizations - This topic will be moved to the January meeting. b. Marketing Ideas - Public Relations Alcorn has suggested that a web camera could be utilized to give a real time view of the lake with marketing of the LAC and the City on the web site. The initial cost would be around $1200.00. This could help promote the lake and the LAC. Mankowski suggested that a lake link could be added to the City website to promote activities on the lake. ,- Alcorn added that he has created a website which contains links to the various organizations in Prior Lake. The web address is priorlakemn.net. Poppler suggested revisiting the idea of a carp contest as a marketing tool. Alcorn stated that using the organizations and businesses associated with the lake can be used to help coordinate these marketing efforts. Petersen added that the bass tournaments are also ways to market. V. ANNOUNCEMENTS a. Boat Slips are completed at Watzl's Point - Location changed due to depth issues. VI.
