18 April 2019 Meeting Minutes
Attending: Commander Brad Cragoe, Tracy Miller, Warren Erickson, Izzy
Lundquist, Tonya Fitzgerald, Karen Bubb,
Absentee: Paul Godlewski, Rick Steinhaus, Woody Spitzmueller, Megan Lovett
1. Chairman Tracy Miller called the meeting to order at 4:34PM.
2. Approval of meeting Agenda and Minutes was postponed until Tonya was
in attendance for quorum. Upon her arrival, Izzy made a motion to approve;
Tonya seconded the motion, and they were unanimously approved.
3. Tracy shared a letter she penned for the Prom Letter, as we were
approaching the date. Izzy had also developed a similar letter. With the
addition of a paragraph stating the affect of illegal behaviors on activities,
etc., Izzy will re-write this letter. Izzy will make sure that it is published on
Concerned Citizens, Schoology, and online for students and parents. Izzy
will also ask coaches and activity directors to review the guidelines. Tracy
will make sure Newswire and Prior Lake American publish the letter.
4. The invasion of privacy case - it is still not decided if the person will be
charged as an adult, but he has been charged. The case is still on-going.
More information and possible victims are possible.
5. Senior fraud stickers - Commander Cragoe will check with Chief Booker to
see where we stand with publication of them. The graphic was discussed,
as was the best places to distribute them. A brief explanation before
distribution was suggested at any place seniors gather.
6. The city is in the process of interviewing candidates for the Chief position.
There were 5 initial candidates, and now down to 2. Tracy will be involved
in the 2nd round of interviews. There will be a ‘Meet and Greet’ on the 25th
of April. All citizens are invited.
7. Commander Cragoe reminded the committee that there are still a fair
amount of garage break-ins. Understanding that many citizens are
accustomed to the relaxed, trusting neighborhoods, we must realize that
there are people taking advantage of this. He asked that we please remind
neighbors to lock their cars, do not leave anything IN them, and make sure
there is no way thieves can get into your house and/or garage.
8. Councilor Erickson had a concert for the education of citizens in the
handling of the proposed roundabouts in town. Commander Cragoe will
check to see if this issue is being championed by the Traffic Committee,
and if not, we will revisit this issue.
9. Tracy asked if there was a copy of the CSAC planning calendar for the
committee. She gave a copy to the Commander and he will look on the
server.
10. Announcements: Fire - Commander Cragoe stated that the fire dept. was
called for lightening striking gas meters. They are also still trying to hire
additional staff. They have 4 CSOs ready. They will be hiring 2 temps fo the
summer. Police - officers in training until June.
11. Izzy asked for ideas tackle the vaping issue at the high school and middle
school. Tonya will investigate with Scott County Public Health for additional
information.
