CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 4:01 p.m. In attendance were Patty Dronen, Alejandra Pelinka, Crystal Dvorak, Allison Olson, Marie House Boucher, Karin Logerquist and Community Development Director Casey McCabe. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by MBH and seconded by PD to approve the agenda. All in favor. 3. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES A. December 19, 2024 Motion by PD and seconded by AO to approve the meeting minutes. All in favor. 4. PRESENTATION / DISCUSSION None. 5. OLD BUSINESS A. Downtown Sculpture ACC members reviewed a list of potential historical dates and events to include on the downtown sculpture. The committee narrowed the list to approximately 18 dates/events. McCabe will email a revised list to all committee members for a vote with a goal of identifying 14 to 16 dates and events that will be presented to the Prior Lake EDA. The Committee also discussed a possible QR code that could be included on the sculpture directing visitors to a website that would include additional historical dates/events and could include more detailed information on specific events. B. Approval of 2025 – 2029 ACC Strategic Plan ACC members reviewed a draft strategic plan and allocated available funding to each of the short-term strategic priorities. Sidewalk Stamps / Etching: the committee supported a $4,000 cost ($2,600 from the ACC fund and $1,400 from other/private) to purchase two stamps and complete one sidewalk etching in 2025. The committee preferred the appearance of sidewalk etching for quotes but liked the idea of purchasing two generic stamps for reuse around the community. Prior Lake Community Artist Program: The committee supported a $15,000 cost ($7,500 from the EDA and $7,500 other/private) to identify another community artist to complete a public art project in 2025/2026. This action would require approval of the funding allocation from the EDA. Promotion of Prior Lake Association Photo Contest Winners: The ACC estimated $2,500 for this item to purchase calendars for resale as a fundraiser for the nonprofit. The committee is hopeful all funds needed could be private donations. Support Community Arts: the committee is committed to this initiative but did not allocate a specific dollar amount for this purpose. Incorporation of Arts Component in New Construction: the committee is committed to this initiative but did not feel a specific funding allocation was necessary for this purpose. “Friends of Arts” type Non-Profit Formation: the committee supported the allocation of $4,624 to the Prior Lake Friends of the Arts nonprofit. This represents the fund balance from the original $5,000 allocated from the EDA for this purpose. C. 2025 EDA/ACC Budget Request As a result of the earlier agenda item finalizing the ACC Strategic Plan, the committee will be requesting EDA financial support in the amount of $7,500 from the Prior Lake EDA to support a 2025/2026 Community Artist program. 6. NEW BUSINESS None. 7. OTHER BUSINESS A. Staff Updates McCabe reminded the committee of an open house event hosted by Prior Lake Art Dock on January 25th from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Prior Lake Library. McCabe anticipates members of Prior Lake Art Dock will attend a future ACC meeting to discuss their mission and collaboration opportunities. B. Strategic Initiative Updates Dronen and Dvorak provided a brief update on research they have done for a calendar to promote the Prior Lake Association photo contest winners and provide financial support to the Prior Lake Friends of the Arts nonprofit. It was suggested the calendar include both Prior Lake and Spring Lake photo contest winners. C. ACC Member Comments / Ideas None. 8. ADJOURNMENT Motioned by AP and second by MBH to adjourn the meeting. All in favor. The meeting adjourned at 5:14 pm. Submitted by: Casey McCabe
