RESOLUTION 25-038 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING QUOTES AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE WILDS BOOSTER STATION AND WELL 6 GENERATOR REPLACEMENT (2025-10) Motion By: Hellier Second By: Churchill
WHEREAS, the 2025 CIP includes $175,000 to replace the current generator at the Wilds booster station and well 6; and WHEREAS, the current generator is 30 years old and has multiple safety concerns with the way it is currently installed and utilized in that location; and WHEREAS, on October 8, 2024 the City Council authorized a work order with Barr Engineering to provide design, bidding and construction services for the generator replacement; and WHEREAS, Barr solicited and received the following quotes for this project:
Bidder Amount Taylor Electric $140,449 Killmer Electric $158,000
Egan Company $165,243
Cal-Tex Electric, Inc. $153,600
and WHEREAS, Staff recommend awarding the contract to Taylor Electric in the amount of $140,449 to include the purchase and intallation of a CAT generator that is
consistent with other existing generators in various city facilities. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute a contract with Taylor Electric in the amount of $140,449 for the purchase and installation of a standby generator
at the Wilds booster station and well 6.
3. The 2025 CIP includes $175,000 for the project. Passed and adopted by the Prior Lake City Council this 25th day of March 2025. VOTE Briggs Braid Churchill Lake Hellier
