RESOLUTION 25-039 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING QUOTES AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE TH13 TREE CLEARING (2025-02) Motion By: Hellier Second By: Churchill
WHEREAS, the TH13 Trail Segment 1 project includes the contruction of a new pedestrian trail on the west side of TH13 from CR42 south to Oakland Beach Ave; and, WHEREAS, trees will need to be removed along the entire segment to make room for the trail; and, WHEREAS, the presence of endangered northern long-eared bats in this area requires the tree clearing to be completed before April 15 to avoid disturbing their nesting activity; and, WHEREAS, The city’s consulting engineer for this project, WSB LLC, solicited quotes from
four contractors and received the following quotes for this project:

Castle Rock Contracting, LLC $43,168.00
and, WHEREAS, Staff recommend awarding the contract to Castle Rock Contracting, LLC, in the
amount of $43,168.00. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute a contract with Castle Rock Contracting, LLC, in the amount of $43,168.00 for the TH13 tree clearing.
3. The estimated total project cost of $2,500,000 is proposed to be funded with federal funding ($1,000,000) and city funding (fund 225 $1,500,000). Passed and adopted by the Prior Lake City Council this 25th day of March, 2025. VOTE Briggs Braid Churchill Lake Hellier Aye ☒ ☐ ☒ ☒ ☒ Nay ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐
