HomeMy WebLinkAbout25-053 Accepting Donations and Grants to the City Durning the 1st Quarter 2025 4646 Dakota Street SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 RESOLUTION 25-053 RESOLUTION APPROVING DONATIONS AND GRANTS – 2025 QUARTER 1 Motion By: Braid Second By: Churchill WHEREAS, MN Statute 465.03 requires that cities accept donations for the benefit of its citizens in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor; and WHEREAS, MN Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body by two-thirds of its members; and WHEREAS, additional revenues received may require the City to incur additional expenditures in order to comply with grant agreements and restricted donations; and WHEREAS, the City has received the following donations of money, goods or property during January, February, and March of 2025: Donor Value Designated Use Metropolitan Council $237.62 Water Efficiency Rebate Grant Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation $1,500.00 Bike Rodeo Safety Program Grant Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community $350,000.00 1st Quarter 2025 Police State Bank of Faribault $250.00 Shop with a Cop State of Minnesota $6,790.50 PD Vest Reimbursement PLAY $5,200.00 AED/Cabinet at Ponds Park Prior Lake/Savage Optimist Club $2,000.00 3.21 Fun Event Prior Lake/Savage Optimist Club $3,500.00 Recreation Scholarships Fund Anonymous $116.47 Club Prior NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. City staff is authorized to amend the budget to comply with grant agreements and restrictive donations. 3. The grants and donations are hereby officially accepted and acknowledged with gratitude to the donors.
