RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt a resolution receiving quotes and awarding the contract for drainage improvements at
Revere Way & Credit River Rd SE (2020-29).
BACKGROUND:
The CH 21/CH 87/170th St SE Construction Project (2020-29) included the realignment of 170th
St SE to Revere Way, the extension of Revere Way from CH 21 to 170th St SE, turn lane
improvements on CH 21, and a mill and overlay on Revere Way from CH 21 south to 180th St E.
As part of finalizing that project, additional improvements are needed at the southwest corner of
the intersection of Revere Way & Credit River Rd SE to ensure proper drainage in the area.
Staff recently solicited the following quotes to complete the necessary grading and stormwater
system improvements:
Company Quote
DSM Excavating $31,000.00
Park Construction $36,803.50
Staff recommends executing a contract with DSM Excavating in the amount of $31,000 to
complete the necessary drainage improvements.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The cost for these improvements will be included with the CH 21/CH 87/170th St SE Construction
Project (2020-29) and paid from the project fund, account 501-43500.00-55010.00-TRN22-
000002. This project is expected to come in under the $5,773,793 estimated total project cost.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Motion and second as part of the consent agenda to adopt a resolution receiving quotes
and awarding the contract for drainage improvements at Revere Way & Credit River Rd
SE (2020-29).
2. Motion and second to remove this item from the consent agenda for further discussion.

A RESOLUTION RECEIVING QUOTES AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR DRAINAGE
IMPROVEMENTS AT REVERE WAY & CREDIT RIVER RD SE (2020-29)

WHEREAS, the CH 21 CH 87 170 St SE Construction Project requires additonal drainage
improvements at the southwest corner of the intersesection of Revere Way &
Credit River Rd SE; and
WHEREAS, staff solicited the following quotes to complete these improvements:

DSM Excavating $31,000.00
Park Construction $36,803.50
and;
WHEREAS, staff recommend awarding a contract to DSM Excavating in the amount of
$31,000 to complete the necessary drainage improvements.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE,
MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The Mayor and City Manager are authorized to execute the city standard contract with DSM
Excavating in the amount of $31,000 for drainage improvements at Revere Way & Credit
River Rd SE (2020-29).

3. Funding for this project shall come from the CH 21 CH 87 170 St SE Construction Project
fund (2020-29).
