BACKGROUND: Tobacco licenses are valid from January 1 to December 31 of each year and are subject to annual renewal. History of Violations are as follows: MGM Liquor failed a compliance check in2021 Prior Lake Vape and Tobacco failed a compliance check in 2022 MGM Liquor failed a compliance check in2024 None in 2025 The police department conducts annual compliance checks for all cigarette licensees. Attached to this agenda report is a list of the businesses requesting the renewal of their tobacco licenses. The Prior Lake Police Department has completed an investigation of the applicants to ensure that all requirements and issues concerning public safety and compliance have been met. Additionally, all applicants have provided the required documentation for this license. FINANCIAL IMPACT: All nine applicants have paid $250.00 each for their annual license fee bringing the total revenue for these licenses to $2,250.00. ALTERNATIVES: 1. Motion and second as part of the consent agenda to approve the 2026 Tobacco Licenses. 2. Motion and second to remove this item from the consent agenda for additional discussion.
