RESOLUTION 26-031
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A WORK ORDER WITH BOLTON & MENK, INC. FOR THE NEXT PHASE(S) OF THE LAKESIDE SEWER LINING PROJECT (2027-04)

WHEREAS, the City is facing an increased need to address aging sanitary sewer infrastructure in order to avoid a potential failure of the system; and
WHEREAS, the City has 3.5 miles of 40+ year old pipe in lakeside backyards where traditional pipe replacement is not practical or feasible; and
WHEREAS, the cast-in-place pipe lining method is less invasive than replacing and produces a result similar to a new pipe with a 50+ year expected life; and
WHEREAS, Bolton & Menk, Inc. (BMI), a member of the City’s consultant pool, has provided a proposal to conduct an assessment of the pipes and provide
recommendations for future costs and phasing; and
WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted in the 2026 Sewer Utility Fund to cover the
anticipated expenditure of this proposal.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows:
1.The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2.The City Council approves a work order with BMI in an amount not to exceed $39,710 forthe next phase(s) of the sewer lining program (2027-04).
3.The Sewer Utility Fund includes funding for this project.
Passed and adopted by the Prior Lake City Council this 10th day of March 2026.
