RESOLUTION 26-056 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING QUOTES AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE CHILLER REPLACEMENT AT THE POLICE STATION Motion By: Lake Second By: Braid
WHEREAS, the Police Station is served by a central chiller system that is 20 years old and has reached its expected replacement interval; and WHEREAS, one of the four compressors in the chiller system has failed and replacement parts are no longer manufactured or supported; and WHEREAS, replacement of the central chiller is recommended to reduce the risk of unexpected outages and to ensure efficient, reliable cooling for the facility; and WHEREAS, staff solicited quotes from eight vendors to replace the chiller, and the following four quotes were received: Company Quote Schwickerts-Tecta America $157,090
NAC $170,950
Klamm Mechanical $210,000
Associated Mechanical $166,455
and WHEREAS, staff recommend Council award a contract to Schwickerts-Tecta America in the total amount of $157,090 for this project; and WHEREAS, the 2026 Facilities Management Fund includes $200,000 for this project. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The City Council hereby authorizes the execution of a contract with Schwickerts-Tecta America in the amount of $157,090 for the chiller replacement at the Police Station.
3. Funding for this project shall come from the 2026 Facilities Management Fund (440-42100.00-55520.00).
