RESOLUTION 26- 057 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING QUOTES AND AWARDING A CONTACT FOR BUILDING MAINTENANCE AT THE POLICE STATION AND LIBRARY/CLUB PRIOR Motion By: Lake Second By: Braid
WHEREAS, the exterior mortar and sealants at the Police Station and Library/Club Prior, which were built in 2006 and 1999 respectively, have reached their expected replacement interval, resulting in a loss of their protective performance, allowing insects and water a pathway into the building; and WHEREAS, repair of the mortar joints and sealant at the Police Station and Library/Club Prior will improve the thermal efficiency, reduce water and pest intrusion, and improve the aesthetics and integrity of the building; and WHEREAS, staff solicited the following three quotes to replace the mortar and sealants: Company Quote Building Restoration Corporation $115,886
Capital Masonry $118,391
Paragon Restoration 2 $157,229
and WHEREAS, staff recommend Council award a contract to Building Restoration Corporation in the total amount of $115,886 for this project; and WHEREAS, the 2026 Facilities Management CIP includes $115,000 for these improvements in funds 440-42100.00-55520.00 (PD $65,000) and 440-45500.00-55050.00 (LIB/CP $50,000).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The City Council hereby authorizes the execution of a contract with Building Restoration Corporation in the amount of $115,886 for the mortar and sealant repairs at the Police Station and Library/Club Prior.
3. Funding for this project shall come from the 2026 Facilities Management CIP funds 440-42100.00-55520.00 and 440-45500.00-55050.00.
