December 18, 2012
The Lake Advisory Committee (LAC) Meeting was called to order at 4:40 P.M.
Members present: Tom Voll (Chair), Char Jasan (Vice- Chair), Theresa Feldman, J. Allen
Nemecek, Dave Rech, James Streefland, and Liz Weninger Members Absent: None
Others present: Rick Keeney (City Council Member), Pete Young (City Water Resources
Engineer)
CALL TO ORDER
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — Minutes will be approved at the next regular meeting.
III. OLD BUSINESS
1. 2013 LAC Meeting Schedule and Topics —The group discussed the 2013 meeting
schedule and topics. No action was taken.
IV. OTHER BUSINESS —There were no Other Business items.
V. STAFF UPDATE
1. Workshop Results — Notes were reviewed from the 11/20/12 LAC workshop.
The group discussed MS4 requirements, upcoming SWPPP revisions, potential
ordinance updates, source control topics, and the education program. Education
and outreach will be a major LAC focus for 2013.
2. Education and Outreach Program Update — Young updated the group on the
City's education and outreach program. City staff will be working with PLSLWD,
Savage, and possibly Shakopee to meet MS4 permit requirements. Staff will also
be coordinating with the former SCWEP group; will start a local consortium
group with partners.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
1. Presentation — James Streefland presented information about invasive species
and new programs that can be implemented at boat launches to prevent the
spread of invasive species. The original presentation was from the Freshwater
Society.
2. CLMP Review and Potential Updates — The group discussed the Comprehensive
Lake Management Plan (CLMP), which was created by the LAC and has not been
updated since 2000. Looking for direction from group on potential CLMP
updates. Consensus was that the CLMP needs to be simplified. The LAC

members will continue to provide input as requested by the Council. No action
was taken.
VII. ADJOURNMENT — Voll made a motion to adjourn the December 18 16, 2012 LAC
Meeting. Weninger seconded. All ayes to adjourn the meeting at 6:12 PM.
