9 -3-6: SPEED LIMITS
(A) Reduced Speed Areas Posted

The speed of any motor boat, speed boa. oj.� any vessel under

power may be restricted on any waters within the <City upon'
the recommendation of an appropriate law enforcement officer
and approval by the City Manager..` - Such restriction, atthe
discretion of the City Manager, shall be implemented b y
the posting of the restricted area either for a specified
reduced speed or a closed throttle zone (idle speed with

no wake).
(R) - ,High Water Speed Limitations
During periods of high water levels in waters within the
City, the City Manager may, in his discretion and upon

recommendation of an appropriate' law enforcement officer,
impose reduced speed, no wake, or closed throttle restric-
tions upon the operation of any motor boat, speed boat or
any vessel under power on such waters within areas up to
300 feet of any shoreline of said waters (including isiands

The following activities shall be excepted from said speed

and area restrictions: water skiing starts provided that

to any bays of Prior Lake.
Such restrictions shall take effect seven (7) days after
publication of the restrictions in the local paper as a
news item and the posting at all landings on such
waters of said restrictions. In addition, notice of said
' restrictions shall be posted at the City Hall.

Said restrictions shall be promptly removed when the high

water levels have subsided.
(C) Effective Dat
This ordinance shall become effective from and after its
passage and publication.
