HomeMy WebLinkAboutMay 14, 1974 TO: Park Board Members FROM: P. R. Devitt - Secretary SUBJECT: Minutes from 74-4 Meeting The Park Board held meeting 74-4 at the City Hall on May 14, 1974 at 8PM. Members present were Devitt, Kalton, Patchin, Williams. Guests - M. McGuire, C. Tooker, W. Stock, D. Busse, S. Brandt, E. Brumfield, D. Hoeman, D. Weaver, Mrs. Haskins. Patchin called meeting to order. 1. Acquisition of Boud~ns Manor site a. The City Council approved purchase ef property for $3600.00. Mrs. Haskins {owner of property} was present to verbally agree to the $3600.00 price. She will be allowed to re- move some bushes, currently on the property, for personnal use, M/S/P - Kalton/Williams - M. McGuire to have 4 ft high chain link fence erected between rear of Haskin property and park property. M. McGuir~--to have city attorney .look into who pays the taxes on the property this year. b. E. Brumfield, D. Hoeman, and D. Weaver were present to inquire about and recommend improvements to Boudins Manor Park. Park Board assured them steps are being taken to update the park. People adjacent to the park area agreed to help maintain skating rink facilities if the city initially helps to get them ready. See attached recommendation and sign petitions from the Boudi. ns Manor area residents. 2. Memorial Park Grandstand a. Council approved demolition of ol(:t grandstand. W. Otting will remove grandstand for salvaging of the lumber. M/S/P - Kalton/Devitt - W. Otting to remove grandstand contingent upon {1} $1000.00 performance bond or certified check and {2) job be completed and.area cleaned- up within 10 days from acceptance of bond. It was later agreed that removal can not start until after the Jays home game on Sunday May 19, 1974. b. M/S/P - Williams/Devitt - M. McGuire to pursue purchase of foul ball screen for behind home plate and present cost estimates to Council at May 20th meeting.' c. M/S/P - Devitt/Williams - M.
