LAKES ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
June 18, 2013
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm. Present were LAC Chair Voll, Vice-Chair Jasan, LAC
members Rech, Streefland, and Weninger, and City Water Resources Engineer Young.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION BY RECH, SECONDED BY WENINGER, TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MAY 21, 2013
LAC MEETING AS PRESENTED.
VOTE: Ayes by Jasan, Rech, and Weninger. Voll and Streefland abstained. The motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Community Outreach Opportunities
Water Resources Engineer Young presented the agenda report. Presentation item only, no votes
were taken.
OTHER BUSINESS
MS4 SWPPP Presentation
Water Resources Engineer Young presented an overview of the City’s MS4 SWPPP and ongoing
activities required under the MS4 program.
MS4 Public Hearing
A public hearing was held concerning the City’s MS4 permit. LAC Chair Voll announced the agenda
item and requested a motion to open the public hearing.
MOTION BY WENINGER, SECONDED BY STREEFLAND, TO OPEN THE PUBLIC HEARING.
VOTE: Ayes by Voll, Jasan, Rech, Streefland, and Weninger. The motion carried.
LAC Chair Voll declared the public hearing to be open. No members of the public were in
attendance. There were no questions or comments from the floor.
MOTION BY WENINGER, SECONDED BY STREEFLAND, TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING.
VOTE: Ayes by Voll, Jasan, Rech, Streefland, and Weninger. The motion carried.
STAFF UPDATE
Watershed/WMO Update
Water Resources Engineer Young presented the agenda report. Presentation item only, no votes
were taken.
NEW BUSINESS
LAC Bylaws Update
Water Resources Engineer Young presented the agenda report. LAC members previously
provided comments on the LAC bylaws that were last updated in 2011. The new bylaws were
presented with changes highlighted. After discussions, the LAC members decided further review
of the changes is needed. No vote was taken.
Subcommittee Reports
LAC members had no updates for this agenda item.
July Workshop Discussion
Topics for the upcoming July workshop were discussed, including subcommittees, meeting times,
annual project updates, work plan tasks, and LAC bylaws. Presentation item only, no votes were
taken.
UPCOMING MEETINGS
Lake Tour: August 20, 2013, 4:30 pm, Upper Prior Lake
Workshop: September 17, 2013, 4:30 pm, Parkview Community Room
ADJOURNMENT
A motion to adjourn was made by Vice-Chair Jasan and seconded by member Rech. With all in
favor, the meeting adjourned at 5:49 pm.
