LAKES ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
July 29, 2014
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 4:05 pm. Present were LAC Chair Jasan, LAC Vice-Chair
Weninger, LAC Members Streefland, Rech, and Shower, Councilor McGuire, and City Water
Resources Engineer Young.
LAKEFRONT DAYS PLANNING
This item was continued from the July 15, 2014 LAC workshop. Informational items suggested for
the LAC’s Lakefront Days table included lake use info such as lake boating rules, E. coli testing,
and pet safety. Presentation item only, no vote was taken.
SPRING LAKE SLOW NO-WAKE
Staff presented information concerning slow no-wake restrictions for Spring Lake. Presentation
item only, no vote was taken.
LONG-TERM FLOODING ISSUES PLANNING
Staff presented general information concerning recovery from flooding. Discussions centered on
permits required, how to restore shorelines, and sandbag management. Presentation item only,
no vote was taken.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion to adjourn was made by Member Streefland and seconded by Member Rech. With all
in favor, the meeting adjourned at 5:11 pm.
