Box 359 Prior Lake, MN 55372 Dea r B ill , The City Council at its May 10, 1982 meeting ratified Mayor Stock's reconvnendation that you be appointed to the newly formed "lake Access Search Conmittee". The Mayor and Council further set a 60 to 90 day timetable for completion of the task. I am enclosing a copy of general guidelines for the committee and a list of the members. The first meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday. Hay 18. 1982 at 7:30 PM in the Council Chambers. Bill Mangan. Park and Recreation Director for Prior Lake. has been appointed to the committee as the City Representative. Lake Access Search Committee 05/10/82 PURPOSE OF COMMITTEE The purpose of the Committee is to investigate potential sites on Prior and Spring Lakes for additional boat access. SITE SUITABILITY GUIDELINES Access site development should not result in major negative environmental impacts. However, due to the limited properties available for access use, consideration will have to be given to parcels that are low, wet; steep and/or other characteristics that make them more difficult to develop. ACCESS FEATURE DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINES 1. Parking space for vehicle \'Ii th tra il er - One space for each 20 acres of lake surface - 750 square feet (151 x 50') where parking spaces are unmarked - 500 Square feet (10' x 50') where parking spaces are marked 2. Boat launch ramp - Each ramp 12 feet wide - Not more than 20 parking spaces per ramp - Maximum of four ramps per access site - ~later depth of two feet within 20 feet of 'l:ake shore 3. Turn-around - Dimension - 151 x 50' 4. Roadway - 22 feet wide for two-way traffic 11 feet wide for one-way traffic
