As part of their work program, they would like to review the goals and objectives of each department as well as Advisory Committees. To that end, I would like to propose the following goals and objectives for the Parks Advisory Committee for 1994. Each of these goals and objectives are open for discussion and either acceptance or rejection by the PAC. MAKE CERTAIN EACH MONTHLY MEETING HAS A QUORUM. A. Each member will confirm hislher attendance by telephone to the Recreation office no later than the day of the meeting. .~~k-~ B. Each member will miss no more than 1 meeting per year. II. TO CONDUCT MEETINGS IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE CHAIR OR VICE CHAIR. A. To respectfully recognize each individual member of the committee. B. To respectfully recognize each member of the staff. III. TO CONDUCT MEETINGS IN A TIMELY FASHION. A. The Chair is responsible for completing the agenda in the proper time allocated. B. If there are new items brought up during the meeting, the Chair may table these items until the next meeting. IV. To review the subdivision prior to the meeting so as to come prepared to assist the Director in making Open Space policy decisions. " ~ . B. To consider Staff recommendations regarding Open Space recommendations for all new subdivisions. 1"'............. / V. TO REVIEW AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE CITY COUNCIL ON RECREATION PROGRAM ACTIVITIES. A. To ....'U1.\i4t policy decisions concerning recreation programs as they relate to the community (non-resident fee, eligibility rosters, user fees, admissions fees, etc.). VI. TO REVIEW AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE CITY COUNCIL REGARDING GRANT PROPOSALS. A. To assist the Director in determining grant eligible projects. B. To recommend to the City Council which projects should be pursued with grant funding. VII. TO REVIEW AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE CITY COUNCIL AND CHANGES OR ADDITIONS/DELETIONS IN PARK ORDINANCES OR POLICIES. ~ . t:I ',) A. TO TOUR THE PARK SYSTEM EACH YEAR, BOTH AS A COMMI'ITEE AND INDIVIDUALL~ TO STAY ABREAST OF CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS NEEDED IN THE PARK SYSTEM. X. TO PROMOTE THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT PROGRAMS AND PARK SYSTEM TO THE COMMUNITY. A. To act as liaison between the City and the neighborhoods in which you live. B. To assist the Director in promoting recreation programs, the parks and open space system, communications with the residents, and disseminating promotional information. ,~ XI. TO ASSIST THE DIRECTOR IN RECOMMENDATIONS FOR NEW PROGRAMS, FACILITIES, IMPROVEMENTS, OR EQUIPMENT. A. 'Ib determine the need for a community survey to stay in touch with community interests. B. To assist the Director by communicating the need for new programs or services, park maintenance needs, equipment in need of repair or other items requiring attention.
